AKEREDOLU BACK FROM MEDICAL LEAVE

Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has returned home after spending three months abroad for his medical leave. The governor had been away in Germany for about three months treating an undisclosed ailment.

It was gathered that the governor will first go to his residence in Ibadan and stay for a few days before going to Akure, the Ondo State capital.

Ahead of his arrival, his press crew yesterday left Akure for Lagos to receive him at the airport

The Governor’s medical leave which began in June was extended indefinitely by the state House of Assembly.

While on leave, Governor Akeredolu had transferred power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, in line with constitutional provisions.

It was all jubilations in the Akeredolu political camp and among the citizens of Ondo State as they await the resumption of the Governor. Chants of “Aketi is Back” were reported in some areas  in Akure and Owo yesterday evening.

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu is nicknamed “Aketi” by admirers and friends.
