OPINION: RELIGION AND PUBLIC INTEREST by Olufemi Josiah

RELIGION AND PUBLIC INTEREST by Olufemi Josiah

We need to start telling our stories by ourselves. Almost all our leaders profess one religion or the other but this does not reflect in the societal progress.

Religion has failed us here because the clergy is in bed with the politician.

So how can they be the conscience of our nation? I don't have problem with anybody’s religion as long as you profess love and peace to mankind but do it in your privacy and don't disturb the public with it.

We need to go back to the time before the Arabs and the Europeans arrived here with their policy of economic and social expansion, and start rewriting our stories based on oral tradition and scientific facts.

If we are true to it, you will come to see that we have been brainwashed and manipulated.

The Chinese, Indians, Koreans, Japanese never lost their culture to Arab and Western influences.

See where they are now.

Where are others?

Backward and always fighting themselves based on religious differences fostered on them by the invaders

I wish the government at all levels can institutionalize the policy of making religion a private concern.

My humble take.
