BAGOSA IBADAN HOLD NEW YEAR PARTY, INAUGURATE NEW EXECUTIVE

The  Ibadan Chapter of Baptist Grammar School  Ibadan Old Students Association (BAGOSA) held the 2024 new year party on Sunday 28^th January at the school premises in Idi Ishin in Ibadan the Oyo  State capital.

At the well-attended event, the new Executive of the chapter was also sworn in and inaugurated. The swearing in ceremony was performed by Professor Peter Ayodeji Agbonjimi, a legal luminary and lecturer. Agbonjimi is a member of the pioneer 1970 set of the school.

The new executive members are

4. ABUDUMALIK TIJANI (Assistant Secretary)

5. APUWABI ODUNAYO (Treasurer)

6. REVD PETER EMMANUEL CHUKWUELOKA (Financial Secretary)

7. ADEYI KOLAWOLE (Social Welfare Officer)

8. PROPHETESS OLUYEMISI REHOBOTH (Public Relations Officer)

In her inaugural speech, the new Chairman, Mrs Yemisi Kupoluyi admonished members of the association to always have the interest of the School and the Association in their hearts and to give unalloyed support to the new executive of the chapter.

A keynote address was delivered by the National Vice President, Deaconess Omolara Thomas. She explained that BAGOSA is a “Work In Progress”. She said the National Executive will soon roll out a series of developmental programs and enjoined all to give support for the association’s programs.

A major highlight of the event was the donation of two trophies by Professor Agbonjimi for a BAGOSA MARATHON. One cup each will be for male and female participants. Agbonjimi also presented a cheque for cash rewards for winners and runners-up. While presenting the trophies the Professor of Law emphasized the importance of physical fitness for the body and the mind.

Rt Honorable Asimiyu Alarape, a former Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly was the guest of Honour.

The outgoing Chairman of the chapter, Professor Odetunde thanked members, especially elders of the association for their support throughout the tenure his administration.

The association’s National Secretary, Ogbeni Femi Ladapo commended the organizers of the event for a job well done. He also thanked Professor Agbonjimi for his kind gesture which he believesshould be emulated by others.
