RAMADAN:
OGUNJOBI GIFTS FOODSTUFF, CASH. ENDORSES IGBALAJOBI
As Muslim
faithful enter into the holy month of Ramadan, preparations were in top gear
and activities towards the start of fasting were in a frenzy.
Many people
were faced with the anxiety of what provisions to put in place for the fasting
period.
It is time for those who have to give to others. Well-meaning individuals of means choose this period to bless those fasting with gifts.
Such was the
case in Ward 6 of Ibadan North East Local Government when Chief Samuel Abiodun
Ogunjobi, a PDP leader in the Local Government gave out foodstuff and cash to
the Muslims.
While addressing the recipients, Ogunjobi appealed to the people to accept what he has to give as his widow’s mite. He said Ramadan is a period of sober reflections, service to God and service to Humanity.
He urged
them to always remember Nigeria, Oyo State and their communities in their
prayers during Ramadan.
He said we should always pray for those in power because it is when they do well that it will be well with us.
Various
recipients expressed gratitude to Ogunjobi for the heart of giving.
Mrs Mope
Oyegbori, a female party leader gave kudos to Ogunjobi and prayed that God will
grant him his heart’s wishes and bless him with long life.
Others who
spoke eulogized him as a cheerful giver who has never forsaken his people in
times of need.
A party
leader in the Local government, Mr Suleiman Akingbeju thanked him and enjoined
him to continue in his good ways and God will continue to bless him.
Samuel
Ogunjobi also siezed the opportunity to confirm his endorsement of the councillorship
candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in the coming Local Government
Elections.
He appealed
to voters to cast their votes for Mojeed Igbalajobi, stating that he can vouch
for the candidate and that when he gets to the position he will not desert
them.
He said this
is a period to forget whatever differences there were before now and stand
behind the candidate.
Igbalajobi in response thanked the party members for the confidence reposed in him by supporting him at the primaries and urged them to not only vote for him but campaign for him. He thanked Ogunjobi for the endorsement and promised not to let him down. Igbalajobi has served as a Special Adviser to the Local Government in the immediate past regime.
Speaking on the endorsement of igbalajobi, Ogbeni Femi Ladapo said the emergence of Igbalajobi as the party councillorship candidate for Ward6 is long overdue because he has paid his dues.
On the gift
by Ogunjobi, he simply said “God loves the Cheerful Giver”
