THOUGHTS: THE BEAUTIFUL HOUSE WITH THE GOLDEN GATE

There once lived a man in city in a great town in Africa.

He was so rich people wondered if the gods were not partial in his favour. His wealth was so much that even his servants were better off than most supposedly comfortable people in the city.

He rode the best cars in town. His family was always arraigned in the fanciest raiment imaginable.

Women beheld his wife with envy. His children awed kids anywhere they went.

Oh, there was his mother. People paid obeisance wherever she went. He loved his mother so well. He adored her. She was his mini-God.

All that paled when you see the house. Everything possible in that house was made of gold.

It was such a beautiful house. People went past the house to just feel the glitter of the gold. So much beauty as no one near has ever seen; opulence like never seen before.

People went to the golden gate to make a wish.

But alas!

People woke up one day to find masons pulling down the golden gate.

Shocked

Surprised

Flagger basted

Bewildered

People wondered why a man will pull down such a beautiful golden gate.

Conjectures flew all around.

Some even felt that must have been what the genies that gave him money wanted of him.

But one man, Adisa his best friend dared ask him.

Why pull down such a beautiful gate?

He took Adisa in. They went to see the mother.

There she was with bruises and bandages.

What has Mama’s injuries got to do with this

Listen he said: His mother whom he adored so much has a problem with her eyes. Every time she went past the gold, the sheen affects her eyes and she falls injuring herself.

So he decided to remove everything gold in the house so his mother will stop getting hurt.

Interesting ain’t it?

In life, you find people making decisions you can’t understand. You condemn it because you don’t know why he made that decision.

Before you condemn that person’s decision, find out why he had to decide that way.

Nobody would have known why the rich guy pulled down the golden gate.

TARRY A BIT AND ASK WHY THAT PERSON DID WHAT HE DID OR HAD TO DO.

That puts everybody in good stead.

Where lays your Golden gate? And will you sacrifice it for your loved mother?

It is a matter of mind over matter

So much for the rich man, his mother and the golden gate.

There are some things you hold so dear, that give you so much joy; things that give you class and satisfaction; things you labored so hard to achieve.

What would you do if you have to sacrifice them for the common good? Would you forgo your personal satisfaction or pleasures so that others may live a better life?

The decision is so hard to take yet so easy depending on your mindset. For you, is it just YOU or EVERYBODY?

You may have to sacrifice your golden gate for the benefit of others. It does not make you less than you are but exhibits the humanity in you.
