OLUBADAN THRONE: OROBIYI FAMILY CONGRATULATES OLAKULEHIN, MOURNS BALOGUN
The Orobiyi family of Ido town in Ido Local government of oyo state has congratulated the Olubadan-designate Oba Owolabi Olakulehin for his selection as the next Olubadan of Ibadan Land.
According to a statement made available to press by the
family the long journey from Mogaji to Olubadan is a long and tortuous one and
no greater joy can there be for a man than to get to the peak of the
traditional and cultural ladder.
Chief Benjamin Ishola Orobiyi II, speaking on behalf of the
family, prayed that the reign of Oba Olakulehin will be peaceful and bring
progress and sustainable development to Ibadan Land.
His vast experience and dedication to service will stand
Ibadan in good stead during his reign. He wished the Kabiyesi a long reign on
the throne.
In the same vein, the family expressed their heart-felt
condolences to the Balogun Aliiwo family for the departure of Oba Mohood Lekan
Balogun who has gone to be with his ancestors. Oba Balogun was a man who served
humanity and the nation at various levels before becoming the Olubadan. His
reign as Olubadan was also marked with peace and development relying on his
experience, connections and diplomacy. Ibadan already misses him.
The family also commended High Chief Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja
for his handling of events from after the demise of the former Olubadan to the
selection of the Olubadan-designate. Alhaji Tajudeen Oladapo (AKA Warrior) also
speaking on behalf of the family said Ladoja has displayed great magnanimity
and patriotism by withdrawing the case against the Olubadan-in-Council from the
court. According to him the Otun Olubadan has always displayed uncommon
leadership qualities.
The Orobiyi family is a royal dynasty in Ido town. They are the founding fathers of the town
