POLITICS: TINUBU'S MEN LIVING IN GOEBBELS' VILLA
Read some comments from the Social media.
Maggie Wilson: “It
was Joseph Goebbels' (Nazi propagandist for Hitler). Hitler gave it to him as a
holiday getaway. Who knows what went on there, but it has bad energy, so nobody
wants it.”
Sheri Sullivan
Daugherty: “Since it was home to a Nazi, no one would want to own this
property. Friends, family and guests wouldn't want to be invited there either.
It probably is haunted by millions of Jewish spirits. So a salvage company
should take the furniture, lighting fixtures, maybe paneling and sold somewhere
that the origin of it can't be realized. Then a demolition crew should tear it
down and remove the debris. “
Cathy Catherine
Romaine Cascella: ”Who owned it first? If Hitler gave it as a gift, it
probably belonged to someone else he killed and stole it from.”
Desiree Taylor: “It's
not the property's fault that it was a gift from Hitler to Goebels, but it
could contain some bad energy etc, what a shame as it is lovely”
But who was Joseph Goebbels to attract such opprobrium?
Joseph Goebbels was born October 29, 1897 and died May 1,
1945, in Berlin
Goebbels was the third of five children of Friedrich
Goebbels, a pious Roman Catholic factory clerk, and Katharina Maria Odenhausen.
His parents provided him with a high school education and also helped support
him during the five years of his undergraduate studies. He was exempted from
military service during World War I because of his clubfoot (presumably a
result of having contracted polio as a child), which later enabled his enemies
to draw a parallel with the cloven hoof and limp of the Devil. This defect
played a disastrous role in his life by engendering in Goebbels a strong desire
to be compensated for his misfortune.
He was the minister of propaganda for the German Third Reich under Adolf Hitler. A master orator and propagandist, he is generally accounted responsible for presenting a favourable image of the Nazi regime to the German people.
Goebbels built Nazi strength in Berlin until Hitler’s
accession to power in January 1933. In 1928 Hitler gave Goebbels, who founded
Der Angriff (“The Assault”) in 1927 and served as its editor and later, from
1940 to 1945, served as editor of Das Reich, the additional post of propaganda
director for the NSDAP for all of Germany.
Goebbels began to create the Führer myth around the person
of Hitler and to institute the ritual of party celebrations and demonstrations
that played a decisive role in converting the masses to Nazism. In addition, he
spread propaganda by continuing his rigorous schedule of speech making.
The main thrust of
his propaganda, which he carried on personally and without respite in the press
and over the radio, was to continually raise hopes by citing historical
parallels and making other comparisons, by conjuring up allegedly immutable
laws of history, or even, as a last resort, by referring to some secret miracle
weapons.
Hitler died by suicide on April 30, 1945, and that day
Goebbels became chancellor of the Reich, as per the instructions in Hitler’s
will. However, on May 1 Goebbels, the only one of the original Nazi leaders to
remain with Hitler in the besieged bunker in Berlin, and his wife had their six
children poisoned with cyanide, and the couple then took their own lives.
The Villa was gifted to Goebbels for a holiday resort in
1944 at the peak of their regime, just before the fall of the Third Reich. They
had a holiday there for only one season. Today the valued gift from the Führer is abandoned. Nobody wants it, even for
free.
Many Nigerian politicians and government apologists today wear the coats of Joseph Goebbels.
Like Goebbels they busy themselves trying to paint rosy
pictures of the gory situation in the country. Their stocks in trade at a time
were propaganda and outright lies. They told the Nigerian public things were
happening that never did. A refinery was declared finished and ready, and
celebrated with pomp and pageantry, only for Nigerians to discover it was all a
ruse. The story of Air Nigeria still leaves a sour taste in the mouth. These and other acts of subterfuge were calculated
to put Nigerians in Utopia.
When the lies failed, like the German propagandist, they
resorted to giving Nigerians false hope. Even when the presidency admits things
are getting worse they consistently employ historical and paradoxical parallels
to justify the ineptitude of the Nigerian Führer.
Hitherto respected voices, for a gift of a Goebbelian Villa,
have suddenly gone dumb or they now speak in illogical diatribes. They have
lost respect in the eyes of Nigerians.
The government propaganda machine churns out inconsistent
propaganda in the media; different excuses for the same wrong policy.
Ministers, heads of parastatals and departments are caught in a web trying to explain
away the deluge of failure they find themselves.
Government contractors, party men and tribal jingoists
struggle to defend the indefensible without any success.
If the conditions of Nigeria and Nigerians do not improve
and the people become hopeless and helpless, the Nigerian “Reich” will fall.
Then the “Goebbelian” gifts and all the wealth they have
acquired and accumulated will be useless and of no value.
They will have so fallen out of favour that anything that
has to do with them will become taboo.
Talk to your Council Chairman
Speak the truth to your Governor
Shouldn’t someone tell the President?
Let your Senator, Representative and Councilor know.
Forget the mess of porridge.
Goebbels’s Villa will soon be worthless.
