ONDO GUBER ELECTIONS: BASA DRUMS SUPPORT FOR AGBOOLA AJAYI

 

Bolanle Aminat Sarumi Aliyu, a chieftain of the People's Democratic Party and former candidate for the governorship seat in Oyo state has drummed up support for Alfred Agboola Ajayi, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the forthcoming Gubernatorial elections in Ondo State.

According to her, the politician, lawyer, and businessman who served as Deputy Governor of Ondo State from 2017 to 2021 has all the experience and political will to lead the Ondo State to greater heights.

BASA as she is popularly called, is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party  Finance and Fund Raising Committee for the Ondo State Gubernatorial Elections.

Speaking about Agboola Ajayi, she recalled his political antecedents.

Ajayi started his political career under the platform of Social Democratic Party (SDP) and became the chairman of SDP in Old Opoi Ward 1 from 1988 to 1998.

He later joined Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at inception in 1998 and was made the Secretary of PDP in Ilaje/Ese Odo LGA between 1998 and 1999.

He was later made the Supervisor for Agriculture for Ese-Odo LGA from 1999 to 2001 and subsequently appointed as Supervisor for Works and Transport for Ese-Odo LGA from 2001 to 2003.

He then went on to become the Caretaker Chairman of Ese Odo LGA between 2003 and 2004 before he was finally elected as the chairman of Ese-Odo LGA from 2004 to 2007.

He was elected, in 2007, as a member of the Federal House ofRepresentatives  and represented Ilaje/Ese Odo federal constituency under the PDP. During his time in the House, Ajayi served as the chairman House Committee on NDDC from 2007 to 2010.

This according to her has shown that Ajayi grew politically from the grassroots and therefore understands the feelings of the people.

Unlike other types of candidates who emerged vying for positions without requisite knowledge and experience, Ajayi Agboola has garnered great experience in human resource management and governance.

Having been a Deputy Governor before, the office of Governor will not be strange to him.

Sarumi also urged the people of Ondo State to support the PDP and her Candidate by voting out the ruling All Progressives Congress, a party that has plunged the whole nation into untold hardship.

 

BASA, as she is fondly called by friends and admirers is a political figure to watch out for in the run up to the 2027 elections in Oyo State.

She is from Ibadan North Local Government and hails from a prominent political dynasty.
